Teaching our kids to be more at peace is something all parents would like to know how to do. Mindfulness is a skill that can help your child liberate him/herself from inner stress. As a skill, we can actually train the mind and train ourselves to intentionally notice the positives in any particular interaction or moment.

Although we can learn mindfulness at any time in our life, the earlier we learn, the easier it is to practice peace, independent of circumstance. The best time to start learning these skills is during the “sweet spot” of brain development, between grades four to seven.

CBC news posted an article entitled All In Your Mind: How mindfulness and meditation practices are gaining mainstream momentum. I believe you can find it at https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/all-in-your-mind-read-mercer-fellowship-1.4843168
